Regional Higher Education Conference
The realization of the Higher Education Conference (CRES-2008) in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, coordinated by the International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC) and the Ministry of National Education of Colombia, with support of the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN) and the Andres Bello (CAB), is part of the conception of Higher Education (HE) as a public and as a strategic tool for sustainable development and interagency and international cooperation and practical regional integration, seeking the creation of a Common Space of Knowledge and Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean.
IESALC, in partnership with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Colombia, calls for the implementation of the Regional Conference on Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean. This Conference is one of the preparatory bodies for the next World Conference on ES. It will analyze and discuss trends and new perspectives that have been emerging from the social, economic, political and cultural region and its implications for the ES and regional contributions be made to the CMES-2009.
Conferencia Regional de Educación Superior 2008
La realización de la Conferencia de Educación (CRES- 2008) en Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, coordinada por el Instituto Internacional para la Educación Superior en América Latina y el Caribe (IESALC) y por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional de Colombia, con el apoyo de la Asociación Colombiana de Universidad (ASCUN) y el Convenio Andrés Bello (CAB), se enmarca en la concepción de la Educación Superior (ES) como bien público y como instrumento estratégico de desarrollo sustentable y de la cooperación interinstitucional e internacional como prácticas de integración regional, buscando la conformación de un Espacio Común del Conocimiento y Educación Superior en América Latina y el Caribe.
El IESALC, en alianza con el Ministerio de Educación de la República de Colombia, convoca a la realización de la Conferencia Regional sobre Educación Superior en América Latina y el Caribe. Esta Conferencia constituye una de las instancias preparatorias a la próxima Conferencia Mundial de ES. En ella se analizarán y debatirán las tendencias y nuevas perspectivas que han venido surgiendo a partir de las transformaciones sociales, económicas, políticas y culturales de la Región y sus implicaciones para la ES y se formularán los aportes regionales a la CMES-2009.
