Regional Conference of Higher Education 2008

 

Thank you for your participation at CRES 2008, Regional Conference of Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean 2008 in Cartagena, Colombia.  For those of you who are new to this conference, please go to BACKGROUND and INTRODUCTION for more details.

UNESCO-IESALC is pleased to announce the Action Plan, with the goal to promote the implementation of the values and principles of the Declaration of CRES 2008.

The Action Plan is comprised of five guidelines and has recommendations for government, higher education institutions, networks and others. For full details, please go to CONTENT.  It emphasizes the commitment, focus and efforts of all the players involved to influence the debate at the World Conference on Higher Education – WCHE to be held in July 2009 in Paris.

UNESCO-IESALC would like you to step forward and provide inputs for the five key guidelines of the program, which are: 1)Expanding Higher Education (undergraduate and graduate levels) with quality, relevance, and social inclusion; 2) Promoting accreditation, assessment, and quality assurance policies; 3) Encouraging educational innovation and research at all levels; 4) Building a regional agenda for science, technology, and innovation in order to overcome  the disparities and promote sustainable development of Latin America and the Caribbean, in accordance to  the general policies of Member States;  and 5) Supporting regional Latin American and Caribbean integration as well as the internationalization of higher education through the construction of ENLACES – Latin America and the Caribbean Area for Higher Education, among another initiatives.

In regards to the fifth guideline, the creation of ENLACES, is important for us to have your active participation in the platform for registration of experiences in Higher Education called Portal of Initiatives on Higher Education for Latin America and the Caribbean.

We are counting on your cooperation in sharing your suggestions on higher education public policies, projects, events and any other initiatives in which your institution or country organizes or participates.  With your help, we aim to meet the stated objectives of CRES 2008.

We also know that diet and exercise are important parts of a healthy lifestyle, so part of the conference will be presented by an exercise physiologist bondi junction and a dietitian bondi junction. The exercise physiologist sydney and dietitian sydney will conduct and number of lectures and workshops and will be available throughout the event to answer all health and fitness related questions, so please take advantage of their expertise and time!

CRES2008 PRIVACY POLICY

Conferencia Regional de Educacion Superior CRES 2008

Muchas gracias por su participación en la Conferencia Regional de Educación Superior de América Latina y el Caribe CRES 2008.

UNESCO-IESALC recién lanzó el Plan de Acción, que es el resultado de las discusiones de las mesas de trabajo y de la Declaración de la CRES 2008.

El Plan de Acción contiene cinco lineamentos además de las recomendaciones para gobiernos, instituciones de educación superior, redes y otros. Enfatiza el compromiso y los esfuerzos de todos los actores involucrados con el objeto de influenciar el debate en la Conferencia Mundial de Educación Superior – WCHE 2009 – que tendrá lugar en Paris en Julio de 2009.

Los cinco lineamentos del Plan de Acción son: 1) Impulsar la expansión de la cobertura en educación superior, tanto en pregrado como en postgrado, con calidad, pertinencia e inclusión social; 2) promover políticas de acreditación, evaluación y aseguramiento de la calidad; 3) fomentar la innovación educativa y la investigación en todos los niveles; 4) construir una agenda regional de ciencia, tecnología e innovación (CTI) para la superación de brechas y para el desarrollo sustentable de la región, acorde a las políticas generales de cada Estado miembro; 5) propugnar la integración regional latinoamericana y caribeña y la internacionalización de la educación superior en la región mediante, entre otras iniciativas, la construcción del ENLACES – Espacio de Encuentro Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Educación Superior.

Para la creación del Forum ENLACES necesitamos su participación incluyendo sus sugerencias sobre políticas públicas en educación superior, proyectos, iniciativas y eventos que su institución o país participa u organiza a fin de construir una plataforma que sirva para compartir experiencias en Educación Superior que hemos llamado el Portal de Iniciativas en Educación Superior de Latinoamérica y Caribe.
